Hey :) thanks Yeah I finally got used to the Kid Classic - it's such a lovely soft yarn.
I just found it very prone to spliting, and a crying nightmare if I made any mistakes and had to frog. But it just makes for a bigger accomplishment once it's done :)
Hey Spirals - It was a pattern from a book called Scarf Style - I got my copy from Amazon.
The boy and I are on Easter hols this week, and have decided to be active, and get out and about in Scotland since our RSPB membership cards came in this week. Today we went to Stirling in search of nature. We spotted Hamish the Highland coo in a woollen mill next to Callander, surrounded by 3 coach loads of tourists armed with cameras. He just loved the attention... We also stopped at Aberfoyle (great toilets) and popped up to the David Marshall Lodge . A lovely place with virtually tame birds at the seed hangers and tables; chaffinches, coal tits, siskins etc. Really enjoyable, spoiled only by the completely inappropriate noise-fest that is Go-Ape! (exclamation point part of their logo ... 'nuff said). But the best place we visited was Argaty Red Kites - it was unexpected because we only stopped in as it was on the road we happened to be on. We timed it perfectly, arriving just after they'd been fed. There were lots of Red Kites flying and diving about. Click the pics abov...
Choccy-brown iPod cover with pink felt bounding rabbit. Buy here for US$12.35 / £6.95 Choccy brown retro iPod Nano cover with orange apple. Buy here US$8.75 / £4.95 Nautical but nice iPod Nano cosy with red anchor. Buy here US$8.75 / £4.95 Smiley sunshine iPod mini cover. Buy here US$10.95 / £5.95 These are a few of the covers I have designed and made for iPods. There are currently lots more in my Etsy store , and even more 'in production' I can make them to fit most mp3 players, phones etc - just email me so if you see one you like but you have a different iPod/mp3, phone, or anything else you fancy just let me know! I did a lot of research into the best design and found that the 'sock' was much better for ease of use whilst on the move. 100% cotton was the best yarn to knit with as it doesn't stretch or lose it's shape. This means that your cover will stay snug-fitting all the time. Another reason I decided to go with 100% cotton is that this will not scr...
Central Park Hoodie is complete! I'm just squinting in the sun by the way - I am happy. It was a lovely day in Glasgow today, and we found this fabulous tree hidden away in Shawlands which looked like a great place for a CPH photoshoot. Pattern: Central Park Hoodie from Knitscene Fall 2006. Yarn: Cascade 220 in colour 9430. Started: August 2006 - finished April 2007 Skeins used - about 5 and a bit for size 36. Modifications - grafted the hood rather than 3-needle bind-off for neatness. I found the front side panels to narrow so knat an extra inch of ribbing on either side. If I did it again - I would knit wider front panels, and probably the sleeves for the size up. It was a bit snug but blocking helped. I'm a 32-34 inch bust and I knit the 36. I think I might knit another in the next size up for 'fat' days. Skills learned - buttonholes and picking up stitches [thanks Granny :0) ] A shot of CPH with my newly arrived Gamerchix t-shirt. Personalised with my gamertag '...
