Hey :) thanks Yeah I finally got used to the Kid Classic - it's such a lovely soft yarn.
I just found it very prone to spliting, and a crying nightmare if I made any mistakes and had to frog. But it just makes for a bigger accomplishment once it's done :)
Hey Spirals - It was a pattern from a book called Scarf Style - I got my copy from Amazon.
The first sock done! DK pattern and Schoeller & Stahl Limbo Color Col: 2539 - bought from Web Of Wool at Woolfest [they have just updated their website by the way - it's great] I'm totally in love with this yarn! It's like TV white snow but in glorious technicolour. It pains me to stop halfway through - although I have cast on the second sock and done a few rows just to avoid SSS. As it's DK yarn it goes so much faster - and is lovely, cosy and autumnal. The middle pic is my very first shot at kitchener stitch ... it was doubly-hard as I didn't really understand *what* kitchener stich is. I didn't realise until I saw a finished pic somewhere on the internet that it's a stitch that makes it look like there is no join - just knitting continued around the toe. Mine doesn't look like that ... But it's fantastically comfortable, and sock #2 will be better!
I have blogging fever ... it's official! After my long festive blog-break I'm back and just can't stop wittering on. Well today it's about my knitting, all mine. I'm knitting for me, me, me and loving it! Under the Hoodie has grown and is now in the seaming stages. I meant to take more photos along the way but was lost in the moment. If you get lost in the moment during the seaming stages then it must be grabbed, as these are surely the most dull parts of knitting. Well maybe not seaming - which I actually enjoy since my granny showed me how to do the 'magic hidden seam' [or mattress stitch as it is more commonly known] which never fails to amaze me, as my seams just disappear into the fabric - gone! Nothing! Weaving in ends though - that makes me want to cry. I have to do them slowly. Weave in 2 ends, then a couple of rows of Central Park Hoodie alternately. Below is the arm sewn in - I still have to seam the arm and side - the pattern said I had to sew in...
Presenting my iPod Nano mittens!! Made to keep your little Nano snuggly and warm, this little mitten will protect Nano from scratches and bumps. I'm planning to make these in a whole range of colours, so if you'd prefer another colour just let me know - Email me . Most of the colour range available can be found in my shop - although I do have a few colours that I haven't yet tried. I was also thinking of making two mittens and attaching them to each other with ribbon / i-cord - the idea being that they could be worn around the neck with the Nano in one as a kind of necklace - bringing back childhood memories of mittens on a string! Whaddya think? Buy it here for $17.00 / £9.95 - free shipping if you mention this blog in the message section upon purchase [wait for adjusted Paypal invoice] I made a fabby summer stripes one last night - however watching Big Brother and following my mitten pattern didn't quite work and it ended up being too wee - back to the beginning go I...
