Yay! Finished this at last nights meet - I wanted a 'fire' scarf, and I think I've achieved that - Its black [Rowan R2 fuzzi felt] with Kool-Aid dyed fire [Rowanspun].
Both yarns have since been discontinued, illustrating how long this has been a WIP! But I'm happy with it and have been wearing all day!
The first sock done! DK pattern and Schoeller & Stahl Limbo Color Col: 2539 - bought from Web Of Wool at Woolfest [they have just updated their website by the way - it's great] I'm totally in love with this yarn! It's like TV white snow but in glorious technicolour. It pains me to stop halfway through - although I have cast on the second sock and done a few rows just to avoid SSS. As it's DK yarn it goes so much faster - and is lovely, cosy and autumnal. The middle pic is my very first shot at kitchener stitch ... it was doubly-hard as I didn't really understand *what* kitchener stich is. I didn't realise until I saw a finished pic somewhere on the internet that it's a stitch that makes it look like there is no join - just knitting continued around the toe. Mine doesn't look like that ... But it's fantastically comfortable, and sock #2 will be better!
Presenting my iPod Nano mittens!! Made to keep your little Nano snuggly and warm, this little mitten will protect Nano from scratches and bumps. I'm planning to make these in a whole range of colours, so if you'd prefer another colour just let me know - Email me . Most of the colour range available can be found in my shop - although I do have a few colours that I haven't yet tried. I was also thinking of making two mittens and attaching them to each other with ribbon / i-cord - the idea being that they could be worn around the neck with the Nano in one as a kind of necklace - bringing back childhood memories of mittens on a string! Whaddya think? Buy it here for $17.00 / £9.95 - free shipping if you mention this blog in the message section upon purchase [wait for adjusted Paypal invoice] I made a fabby summer stripes one last night - however watching Big Brother and following my mitten pattern didn't quite work and it ended up being too wee - back to the beginning go I...
Well, we made it; we were on TV tonight ( UK readers click here to watch - about 4 mins in ) *gulp* I can't believe how cool it looks - everyone looks great! I'm so embarrassed, but so excited too, that we were featured. In other knitty news, Rogue is going well. I'm so stunned that I made this cable - I'm knitting blind really, as I'm not experienced enough in the cable chart to know what's happening. It's a bit like one of those magic paintings that you paint with plain water, and all different colours appear as if by magic. Wonderful cables are appearing; twisting and turning over each other. I've also been knitting more of my Ker-azy, madcap Kool - Aid - dyed hot water bottle cosy. It fits a treat, and it's fun to knit something in this fizzy neon. In the spirit of kitchy bright fun, I also got a pressie from the boy - this fabulous Kawaii charm bracelet, with Gloomy Bear *, Hello Kitty, a little deer and all kinds of plastic joy. He got it fro...
