The Central Park Hoodie is flying and the Peregrine is sitting


It's been a lovely sunny Bank Holiday Monday today - the perfect day for sitting in all day watching true life TV movies, er and knitting! Central Park Hoodie is flying - I've done 1 and 3/4 sleeves, and seamed up the back and two sides.



We went back to the Falls of Clyde yesterday to see how the Peregrine Falcon was doing - sitting on her nest of 4 new-born ugly babies! The boy took this great shot using the telescopes and the camera - you can see one of the chicks under her.

AND ... I never bought any yarn at New Lanark....

I did however, buy this; Some lovely dyed-to-order merino sock yarn from old maiden aunt - I wanted sunshine on my feet, and she dyed exactly the right shade - I'm thinking a honeycomb cable pattern sock for this.

A bit of culture...

Well we're back in rainy Glasgow, and I think I'm sufficiently recovered from jetlag enough to be able to operate a PC, string a sentence together and complete my Japan blogging. Just in case you thought we'd spent our entire time playing in yarn shops, arcades and eating - a bit of culture was also had. These pics are from the Meiji shrine and surrounding Yoyogi Park. The top pic is a big pond full of koi karp, terrapins and massive dragonflies. We had our lunch there - it was very peaceful and relaxing. The above picture was the dwarfing entrance to the shrine. We walked around the gardens and had lunch but we never visited the shrine itself. I thought I would make a new post to respond to a comment left in my last post. I had posted this: " I'm Scottish, but due to moving around a lot when I was young I have an English accent. I don't like my accent at all - this is not to say that I think there is anything wrong with being English, but I'm Scottish, and it bugs me that I always sound like a visitor to my own country. Central Park Hoodie

I can't believe it's Friday already. I've been trying to blog this since Monday, but Blogger and a cold have combined forces to make sure that it didn't happen until today. Thanks for comments and emails re; oiled yarn. Sorry I didn't hear you at the SECC Heather - I may have been a little delirious after having bought all that yarn! See this is why I do the SECC alone - I'm utterly unsociable when there are crafty delights all around begging to be purchased. Cheers Heather - I would love to get any help that anyone can give me on yarn goodies to be had in Tokyo, and also to see steeking 'live'. I have finally finished the back, 2 sides and 2 sleeves for Central Park Hoodie. Blocking was required in order to seam the shoulders and join front and back pieces for the hood.
