    Hiya, love your scarf, that's the yarn from Uruguay or something, isn't it?
    Okay, as for your sock, would you like the fit better if you pulled the heel gusset down at the back till it touches the floor, then see if you need to unwind a couple of inches at the toe and redo the toe decreases sooner?
    I know it would involve a wee bit of frogging, but only so far, and it might make you enjoy the fit better and feel more up to tackling the second sock. x K

Finished! Pattern: Free - Bernat Cotton Crochet Market Market Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton 3 balls Skills learnt: All of it - brand new to crochet. Modifications: The strap originally went the other way, but I felt tote-style made it lie better - it just felt twisted the other way [see pattern link] I'll be taking this with me to Japan as it expands and therefore can fit lots of yarn. Central Park Hoodie Complete!

Central Park Hoodie is complete! I'm just squinting in the sun by the way - I am happy. It was a lovely day in Glasgow today, and we found this fabulous tree hidden away in Shawlands which looked like a great place for a CPH photoshoot. Pattern: Central Park Hoodie from Knitscene Fall 2006. Yarn: Cascade 220 in colour 9430. Started: August 2006 - finished April 2007 Skeins used - about 5 and a bit for size 36. Modifications - grafted the hood rather than 3-needle bind-off for neatness. I found the front side panels to narrow so knat an extra inch of ribbing on either side. If I did it again - I would knit wider front panels, and probably the sleeves for the size up. It was a bit snug but blocking helped. I'm a 32-34 inch bust and I knit the 36. I think I might knit another in the next size up for 'fat' days. Skills learned - buttonholes and picking up stitches [thanks Granny :0) ] A shot of CPH with my newly arrived Gamerchix t-shirt. Icarus complete!!

I've been away for a couple of weeks doing this; Icarus ! My first ever lace shawl, and I have been bitten by the lace-y bug! I've heard the Yarn Harlot speak of the 'magic' of lace blocking , and now I too have experienced the magic ... and it is AMAZING! [although I had to wear a plastic on my thumbs for the next couple of days after pushing all those pins into the carpet] This shawl chose me - I went to see Sunshine at the cinema [alright, but mince for the last 3rd of the film] and the spacecraft was called Icarus. Random knit-blog surfing after the film found me at Mirum's blog . I love the design - it's Icarus ' frame with the feathers having melted to the ends. I used handpaintedyarn.com's laceweight - colourways Bombon and Sunshine Yellow. Like Icarus, I too began in a cocky manner, convinced of my success and confident that I didn't need lifelines or stitch-markers to mark pattern repeats.
