    Hiya, love your scarf, that's the yarn from Uruguay or something, isn't it?
    Okay, as for your sock, would you like the fit better if you pulled the heel gusset down at the back till it touches the floor, then see if you need to unwind a couple of inches at the toe and redo the toe decreases sooner?
    I know it would involve a wee bit of frogging, but only so far, and it might make you enjoy the fit better and feel more up to tackling the second sock. x K

Central Park Hoodie is complete! I'm just squinting in the sun by the way - I am happy. It was a lovely day in Glasgow today, and we found this fabulous tree hidden away in Shawlands which looked like a great place for a CPH photoshoot. Pattern: Central Park Hoodie from Knitscene Fall 2006. Yarn: Cascade 220 in colour 9430. Started: August 2006 - finished April 2007 Skeins used - about 5 and a bit for size 36. Modifications - grafted the hood rather than 3-needle bind-off for neatness. I found the front side panels to narrow so knat an extra inch of ribbing on either side. If I did it again - I would knit wider front panels, and probably the sleeves for the size up. It was a bit snug but blocking helped. I'm a 32-34 inch bust and I knit the 36. I think I might knit another in the next size up for 'fat' days. Skills learned - buttonholes and picking up stitches [thanks Granny :0) ] A shot of CPH with my newly arrived Gamerchix t-shirt. Cotton Crochet Market Bag

Finished! Pattern: Free - Bernat Cotton Crochet Market Market Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton 3 balls Skills learnt: All of it - brand new to crochet. Modifications: The strap originally went the other way, but I felt tote-style made it lie better - it just felt twisted the other way [see pattern link] I'll be taking this with me to Japan as it expands and therefore can fit lots of yarn. Not an awful lot else to say really... I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

I have to think of more imaginative titles for my posts... OK: 'I heart Yarn, I heart Yarn Magazines, and I heart knitting' will be the title of this post. I had a lovely Stitch n Bitch meet yesterday. One of the members brought in a magazine called "Knit n Style". It contained an article called 'Mindless Knitting' about using knitting as a form of meditation. Now I've long been telling my doctor that knitting is a form of stress-relief for me. Whilst she agrees to an extent, she argues that yoga or meditation would be more effective as knitting is still engaging my mind and hands. Therefore it is not allowing me a total 'relaxation' - which I clearly need as I am 'highly-strung' to say the least! I believe that knitting can induce a meditating effect - once I get into it I can start to drift and become lost in a zen-like state brought about by the repetitive action of knitting.
