SP thanks


Opal sock yarn, sea salt soap bar, Surina dpns and amazing gift tag.

Thank you thank you Secret Pal for my giant box of goodness that arrived this weekend - I love the colourway on the sock yarn very much, and Surina dpns!! I coveted these deeply at Woolfest but resisted - and as we are prone to do - regretted not purchasing them on the journet home.


And attached to my lovely Surinas was this adorable gift tag - this sock is THE cutest, and I have planned a knitting bag for my meets that will contain a clear pvc panel at the front behind which will lie this teeny-tiny sock. It must have taken ages and huge amounts of patience to knit.

I also brought the beautiful scarf along to my Stitch n Bitch group meet this afternoon and everyone ooh'd and aah'd over it :)

    It is I Ignoble Jen of My Pink Half of the Drain Pipe fame or not! I was wondering if I could bother you for some advice?

    As well as your cupcake progress I am aware of your craft business through your blog. I know you have a stall at the Miso Funky fair and on Etsy. My friend and I are considering setting up a screen print bag business and I was wondering if you could tell me about the success and working of both?

    I understand that you are a busy lady, I remember that you get up early to knit and would not wish to take away from your knitting time but anything information and advice would be warming welcomed.

    I really enjoy your blog, keep up the good knits!

A bit of culture...

Well we're back in rainy Glasgow, and I think I'm sufficiently recovered from jetlag enough to be able to operate a PC, string a sentence together and complete my Japan blogging. Just in case you thought we'd spent our entire time playing in yarn shops, arcades and eating - a bit of culture was also had. These pics are from the Meiji shrine and surrounding Yoyogi Park. The top pic is a big pond full of koi karp, terrapins and massive dragonflies. We had our lunch there - it was very peaceful and relaxing. The above picture was the dwarfing entrance to the shrine. We walked around the gardens and had lunch but we never visited the shrine itself. I can't believe it's Friday already. I've been trying to blog this since Monday, but Blogger and a cold have combined forces to make sure that it didn't happen until today. Thanks for comments and emails re; oiled yarn. Sorry I didn't hear you at the SECC Heather - I may have been a little delirious after having bought all that yarn! See this is why I do the SECC alone - I'm utterly unsociable when there are crafty delights all around begging to be purchased. Cheers Heather - I would love to get any help that anyone can give me on yarn goodies to be had in Tokyo, and also to see steeking 'live'. I have finally finished the back, 2 sides and 2 sleeves for Central Park Hoodie. Blocking was required in order to seam the shoulders and join front and back pieces for the hood. Finished! Pattern: Free - Bernat Cotton Crochet Market Market Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter Cotton 3 balls Skills learnt: All of it - brand new to crochet. Modifications: The strap originally went the other way, but I felt tote-style made it lie better - it just felt twisted the other way [see pattern link] I'll be taking this with me to Japan as it expands and therefore can fit lots of yarn.
